COURSE OBJECTIVES AND THE PROCESS

Step One - Refresh and test candidates’ knowledge and Phono-Graphix skills. This will be done by participation in our online Certification Course. Allow one month.

Step Two - Participate in activities intended as specific preparation for training other teachers. In designing these activities we had these objectives in mind:

- Test the candidate's ability to answer questions and enter into debate about literacy instruction. This will include, questions that should be answered on a course, questions that should not be answered on a course and how to deal with these, and questions that will be asked before the course as you promote yourself as a Phono-Graphix trainer.

- Test the candidate's ability to understand and carry out Read America's training policies and procedures as explained during the trainer preparation program and as stipulated in the trainer license agreement.

- Test the candidate's understanding of the legal relationship between Read America, Inc. and its licensed trainers, as well as training policies and procedures, as stipulated in the trainer license agreement.

- Test the candidate's philosophies about literacy instruction and education overall, to assure that the candidate is a suitable representative of Phono-Graphix.

- The trainer preparation program is also considered to be a period of 'due diligence' during which Read America gets to know the candidate and the candidate gets to know Read America for the purpose of building mutual confidence. Read America and its officers and agents reserve the right to deny any candidate a trainer license for the sole reason that we do not feel that granting the candidate a license would be in the best interest of Read America.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION TO BE SUBMITTED
