Language Wise is a programme developed by Geoffrey and Carmen McGuinness
at Read America for improving verbal intelligence including vocabulary, logical reasoning, attention and
contextual memory, and listening and reading comprehension. The principles of the method and the Language Wise lessons are contained in the book How to Raise Your Child's Verbal Intelligence -- the Language Wise Method, published by Yale University Press.

Moving Toward Meaning -
Weaving Language Wise into Your Phono-Graphix Lessons
The newest format of our live Certification Course includes Language Wise practices
and principles. For those trained prior to October of 2007, when the new course was
released, and for those who trained online, we offer an online workshop demonstrating
how to weave Language Wise into your literacy instruction.
The workshop leads to Language Wise certification. The steps
are simple and straightforward.
1. Register for the online workshop. The cost is $225 including viewing the workshop, the Imagine This Kit, reading your examination, and issuing your certification. If you already have the Imagine this kit the cost is $45.
2. View the workshop. It will take you about 35 minutes to view it. You may view it as many times as you wish until you've submitted your exam.
3. Download the exam. It is only five questions, but they are framed to make you think and learn. It's a super exam!
4. Use the lessons and materials with a student or your class. Submit any questions you have to Carmen McGuinness via email.
5. Submit your exam via fax when you're ready.
There is no time requirement. You can proceed at your own pace.
We also suggest you get and read 'How to Increase Your Child's Verbal Intelligence',
though you need not have finished the book to finish complete certification.
