WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP MEAN?

Read America's Phono-Graphix has been the premier international membership organization for literacy professionals since 1996. Many of our most recently added member features are listed below.

  • NEW THIS YEAR - In October 2007, we added our new 2008 Continuing Education Series of 12 PPT presentations on topics of interests to classroom and clinical teachers. The PPTs are there for members, live on demand, on the site when it's convenient for members to view.

In February, we added Read America Lessons Network. It's ReAL Education Programming live from Read America's Praxis Education Center and Chrysalis School, twice weekly. Each live ReAL segment is archived for members to view at their convenience.

  • Member profiles appear on our FIND A TEACHER link, so parents, trainees, and potential employers can find you. Add a therapist or trainer listing at MEMBER SERVICES and you will also be able to advertise your services and have an email link for potential clients and trainees to contact you.

  • For private practice therapists - By popular demand parents can post comments about your work.

  • For classroom teachers - This is your opportunity to share what you do and how you do it. Other members and parents (and potential school districts shopping for teachers) will enjoy reading about your work and your students.

  • For volunteers - Now members who offer literacy volunteer work can get that much appreciated appreciation. We know who you are, and we love you for what you do. Now it's time for you to get your cyber hug for doing it. Members who volunteer can now add a section to their member profile telling others about the service offered.

  • Clinic, Home & School Partnership where your parents can view a flash animation explaining what reading is to help them understand the value of their child's clinic or school lessons, track their child’s progress through the lessons, get help with Phono-Graphix homework assignments, connect and chat with parents of children from other participating clinics or classrooms, view dates and times of Phono-Graphix community lectures.

  • Share Zone on MEMBER RESOURCES where members can upload their worksheets, stories, and lessons to be shared with other members. The self contained page is user friendly and easy to navigate. In three steps anyone can turn their worksheet into a printable Share Zone masterpiece.

  • DR McG's Special Collection of all new material published regularly on the DR McG link on MEMBER RESOURCES.

  • Member access to CHAT pages with customizable email options, A+ listings for members with five years plus of uninterrupted membership, and bronze, silver, and gold trainer medals.

  • Speaker's Corner is a link from our CHAT page where members can initiate a topic of their choosing and be the moderator of that particular forum. Inspired by Hyde Park, our Speaker's Corner is the place to be to work out your angst or creativity.

  • Member Resources page with printable worksheets for each level of the program.

  • International Gain Scores page where members can compare their averages to those of other members around the world.

  • parenTeacher.net article email options so you can share the THIRTEEN YEARS worth of literacy articles there with parents and colleagues.

  • Read America Stars where you can upload pictures of your super achieving students and enjoy pictures of Phono-Graphix students around the world.

  • Member Directory, with your personalized member profile, where members can find and chat with each other.

  • Read America Blueprint is Read America's new certification system for teachers trained in methods based on Phono-Graphix. If you haven't visited this new site yet please do. It's at BLUEPRINTforLiteracy.org. Members can also advertise their BLUEPRINTed products on the site.

  • Continuing Education Workshops offered throughout the year to current members, including BLUEPRINT for Literacy workshops on curriculum design, PG2 training options, Phono-Graphix Online Refresher Course, and workshops for managing the needs of special students.
