Erin Duncan, one of Read America's most experienced independent trainers,
will travel to your site to train your group of six or more. She will give your
staff her expert guidance with personal experience, demonstrations and
hands-on practice! Erin has conducted on-site Phono-Graphix trainings
across the nation, from California to New Mexico to Florida. She has trained:
entire elementary and middle school staffs, including a public charter
school integrating Waldorf education; over 200 intervention teachers
under a Reading First grant for Houston ISD, one of the largest districts
in the United States; and teachers working with inmates in the California
State Corrections System. Since 1998, she has trained hundreds of classroom
and clinical instructors, aides, speech-language pathologists, volunteers

Carolyn Johnson-Gutter, a Master Trainer and California licensed teacher,
has been providing onsite Phono-Graphix certification training for hundreds
of teachers, tutors, aides, and other professionals in institutions around
the United States for the last 10 years, including Houston Independent School
District's Reading First program and the California State Corrections System.
With over 40 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings, she presently
divides her time between teaching students to read and spell using Phono-Graphix
in her private practice and helping teachers learn to use the method. Carolyn
is also licensed to provide training in Read America's newest program Sound
to Symbol To Meaning released in October of 2007. This is a balanced literacy
approach to teaching reading using Read America's highly successful
reading/spelling program, Phono-Graphix, combined with their innovative

Michelle Gips, M.A., CCC-SLP, and Kathy Hosty, M.A., CCC-SLP introduced
Phono-Graphix to the Washington metropolitan area in 1998. They bring over
40 years of language expertise to the Phono-Graphix course and the new Sound
to Symbol to Meaning course. Trainees will have the undivided attention of
these TWO skilled instructors for the entire course. They have successfully
trained OVER 700 teachers, tutors, SLPs and other professionals in the
Phono-Graphix method for both CLINICAL and CLASSROOM application. When not
training, they teach students of all ages and abilities to read and spell
using Phono-Graphix on a daily basis in their private practices.

Ruth Orthner, a Canadian trainer since 1999, will travel to your
site to provide the new Sound to Symbol to Meaning four day course which
includes both of Read America's effective Phono-Graphix and Language
Wise programs. She has trained whole elementary staffs, and groups of
teachers, tutors and learning assistants to use the Phono-Graphix
method effectively in classrooms and clinical settings. Ruth was a
Special Education teacher and a School Administrator for many years
in Northern Saskatchewan as well as a classroom teacher in all grades
K-8. She brings expertise and a wealth of insight into special needs,
learning disabilities, and ESL learners as well as regular students
experiencing difficulty with the reading process. You would appreciate
her ability to communicate the potential and effectiveness of this
program from her personal years of experience. Ruth has recently
retired from the school setting and is now in part-time private practice
working with individual students.
