Comments: Hi all

I'm working with a 6-year old with a very short attention span. He can only manage a half-hour session, and within that time his brain seems to overheat if we do word work for more than a few minutes at a time! I successfully broke today's session up with a game called 'Scramble' where the aim is to put pieces into the correct holes before the timer goes. It's a very short game, but gave him the chance to refresh after concentrating on sounds and sound pictures. It's also useful because he's dyspraxic.

Can anyone out there suggest any other activities that I could use to break up the word work? I've thought of blowing bubbles for a couple of minutes and trying to pop them all. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Yvette
